PRIVACY POLICY
Your finish book stays on this device.
This policy describes CoatCard Finish Book for iPhone and iPad, operated by Tung Ngo. It matches the app’s local-only data inventory. It is a product disclosure, not legal advice.

Who we are
CoatCard Finish Book (“CoatCard”) is a local-first app for painting contractors. The operator is Tung Ngo. There is no CoatCard user account, custom backend, or cloud sync.
Questions: tungngo.dev@gmail.com.
What this app does not do
- It does not create an account or sign you in.
- It does not upload finish records, photos, OCR text, property names, or addresses to a CoatCard server. There is no CoatCard server for those features.
- It does not use remote OCR, advertising, third-party analytics, crash-reporting SDKs, or a custom backend.
- It does not request Contacts, Location, Microphone, tracking, or Bluetooth permissions.
Data stored on your device
You enter job information so you can retrieve a finish book later. The app stores it in the iOS app sandbox (SwiftData and app-managed files) until you delete the property or the app.
- Property display name — to identify a finish book. You can rename, archive, or delete it.
- Rooms, surfaces, and finish details — brand, product, color, code, sheen, “not recorded,” and leftover-location text. These come from your typing or from an OCR draft you review before save.
- Label images and optional reference photos — from Camera or Photos when you start a capture. The app keeps its own copy. It does not delete the original in your Photos library.
- OCR draft text — created on device with Apple Vision so you type less. It is a draft only. You edit, clear, or discard it before anything is saved as a record. CoatCard does not send the image or text off the device for recognition.
- Export history — a property-local ID, the formats you chose, a completion or error code, and a coarse time. The app does not store filenames, addresses, or export destinations.
- StoreKit entitlement — a local cache of whether CoatCard Pro is active and the product ID, so free limits and paid PDF behavior work offline. Purchases themselves are processed by Apple.
Optional client or property notes beyond the display name are not part of this MVP and are not collected.
Camera and Photos
CoatCard asks for Camera or Photos access only after you choose capture or import. If you deny access, you can still enter finish details manually. The app does not use those permissions for anything else.
Purchases (Apple)
CoatCard Pro is an auto-renewable subscription sold through the App Store. Apple processes the purchase, restore, and entitlement. CoatCard does not receive your payment card details and has no custom commerce backend.
Apple may also provide store, download, and crash aggregates through App Store Connect. That handling is under Apple’s privacy policy and Apple’s developer terms.
Manage or cancel the subscription in your Apple ID subscription settings. Restore purchases is available in the app.
Paid use is also governed by Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
Optional on-device diagnostics
If you turn diagnostics on, CoatCard stores local counters only: event name, coarse local day, app version, entitlement or offer cohort, count buckets, and entry method (camera, photos, or manual). Counters never include property or client names, addresses, paint or OCR text, images, a device identifier, IP address, precise timestamps, or free-form notes.
These counters stay on the device. They are not sent to Tung Ngo unless you explicitly export a diagnostic summary. Retention is 90 days, or until you turn diagnostics off, clear them, or delete the app — whichever comes first.
Sharing and export
You can export a PDF, JSON, CSV, and original label images through the system share sheet. CoatCard does not send that package to us. After you share a file, the recipient’s handling is outside this policy.
Access, correction, and deletion
There is no CoatCard account and no developer-held customer database. You can view and edit records in the app, export them, delete a property and its app-managed images, clear optional diagnostics, or delete the app.
If you email support, do not send payment details or job photos unless you choose to. We do not need those to explain how local deletion works.
Children
CoatCard is built for working contractors, not for children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has used the app in a way that concerns you, contact us and delete the app data on that device.
Changes
If the app’s data handling changes, this page will change and the date above will update. Adding a backend, account, remote OCR, or third-party analytics would require a new policy and a new App Store disclosure review.
